Vatsal and I have a strong equation with him. Ajay sir isn't the producer of the film, so he can't be solely responsible. It has to be a collective decision. A new poster of Bharat, which features Salman Khan as a 20-something man, has not only floored Bhai’s fans in India but it’s also creating ripples abroad.

Khichadi child actor Richa Bhadra claims she quit acting due to casting couch: ‘I was asked to compromise’

Child actor Richa Bhadra, better known as Chakki from popular TV show Khichdi, has revealed that she quit the TV industry after being propositioned a number of times. The actor had shot to fame as Chakki, part of the the hilariour Parekh family that had noted actors such as Supriya Pathak as Hansa, Rajeev Mehta as Praful and Anang Desai as Babuji. She was also seen in other TV shows such as Baa Bahu aur Baby and Mrs. Tendulkar.

The actor has said that she was asked to make a “compromise” while appearing for auditions post marriage. Talking about not returning to television, Richa told Timesofindia.com in an interview, “I came across a casting director who said, ‘Keep me happy and I will give you work.’ He wanted to meet me at a hotel when I suggested meeting at a coffee shop. That was the end to all my aspirations which I had in the industry. I didn’t want to ruin the image which I had built as a child actor.”

Talking about the other reason that led to her quitting acting, Richa added, “I have always been a plump girl. During my growing up years, I was being offered roles where I had to expose or romance on-screen. I didn’t want to go against my family and or my will to take up such roles just for fame.”

Complaint filed against woman who abused Varun Dhawan, threatened to commit suicide

The police have registered a non-cognisable (NC) complaint against a woman for allegedly abusing actor Varun Dhawan and his family members and threatening to commit suicide outside his residence last week.
The case has been registered under sections 504 (punishment for intentional insult and with intent to provoke breach of peace) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). According to police officers at the Santacruz station, the woman, identified as Archana Dange, went outside Dhawan’s residence at Juhu Tara Road on Friday at 9.30 pm. 
“Dange was waiting for the actor outside his home. On seeing him, she started hurling abuses at him and members of his family. She also threatened to physically harm the actor’s friend Natasha Dalal. She also threatened to commit suicide,” a police officer said The woman and Dhawan do not know each other, police added. 
HT tried to contact Varun for comment, but did not receive a response. Varun has been busy with the promotion of his next film, Kalank, which releases on April 17. The film is a multi starrer and will see Alia Bhatt, Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapoor, apart from Varun, in lead roles. 
The film has been produced by Karan Johar. Kalank’s trailer and various songs have been well received by fans. Varun’s character in the film is called Zafar and he has been paired against Alia, who is called Roop in the film. 

Salman Khan on Tubelight disaster: People said Eid kharaab kar dia and went into depression

With an array of blockbusters in his account, Salman Khan is used to the idea of his films setting cash registers ringing. However, his 2017 film Tubelight, failed to do well at the box office. The film grossed a lifetime collection of Rs 119.26 crore, one-third of what a regular Salman Khan-starrer earns at the domestic box-office.

But that failed to deter Salman's spirit. Mocking the film's failure, Salman told a daily, "We thought that Tubelight will be a beautiful film, after our much-appreciated superhit, Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015). But for an Eid release, the public wanted to see something happy. In Tubelight, they all cried. They were like, What the hell! Eid kharaab kar diya!'. They went into depression."

The Ek Tha Tiger said that though the film failed to get people to theatres, it did well on television and digital platforms. He said, "Today, when the film comes on digital and satellite, people love it and wonder why it didn't work. It did a business of over Rs 110 crores in the domestic market alone. So, even my flops' notch numbers. Bahuton ki filmein utni bhi nahin chali. So, I'm fortunate that itni badi hit film bhi flop maani jaati hai. I'm grateful for the blessings."

Recently, Salman Khan wrapped up the shoot of his upcoming film Bharat. The film will ht the theatres on Eid this year. The film will star Katrina Kaif and Disha Patani.

Quipped he, "After a long time, Shahid would be seen as a college goer, the last film where he portrayed the role of a college student was in Ishq Vishq in the year 2003. Since then he had gained a lot more muscle and it was a tough task to make him shed those in order to get a lean look. That is why, I put him on a strict 1400-1500 calorie diet a day, along with extensive cardio sessions." He further revealed that it was a low-protein diet and it was done intentionally. "It was a balanced mix of veggies and carbs. His workout regime was also fairly intense, I made sure that he stuck to the diet very dedicatedly, with time, he lost 14 kilos. Therefore, when the film started, Shahid was looking the part."

Actor and comedian Kiku Sharda have refuted reports that his jokes on The Kapil Sharma Show offended actor Alia Bhatt. Talking to Pinkvilla, Kiku said Alia enjoyed herself a lot on the show.

Alia, Varun Dhawan, Aditya Roy Kapur, and Sonakshi Sinha were on the sets of the hit comedy show on Monday to promote their upcoming film Kalank. He asked her ‘How does a scooter start?’ and said “Bhatt, Bhatt, Bhatt, Bhatt…” Cracking another joke, he asked, “Is Mahesh Bhatt into construction business”. Alia answered, “No”. Kiku said, “Then why did he make movies like Footpath and Sadak.”

Janhvi Kapoor recalls huge fight with mom Sridevi after revealing she wanted to be an actor

Being the daughter of legendary actress Sridevi and producer Boney Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor has acting in her blood. On Anaita Shroff Adajania's chat show, she revealed that she has wanted to be an actress for as long as she can remember. "It was always the dream," she said.

Janhvi also recalled the time she had a huge argument she had with Sridevi and was in tears. "I remember this one incident. This was a little after I told mom I wanted to act. We had an argument about something and I started crying a lot," she said.

Sridevi actually got quite happy when she realised that Janhvi looked good while crying. "I was really crying and she looked at me and said, 'You look good when you cry. It's good for an actor. Janhvi Kapoor confesses that she flirts a lot

Janhvi Kapoor was at her candid best on Anaita Shroff Adajania's chat show, on which she made quite a few interesting revelations. The episode ended with a bang, with her confessing that she was a huge flirt."I think I flirt a lot. Even when I don't intend to, even when I don't think I am, it just..." Janhvi revealed.

Over 600 Theatre Artistes Sign On A Statement Urging The Public To Not Vote For BJP & Allies

It’s only been a few days since more than a hundred film personnel including the likes of Vetrimaaran, Sanal Kumar Sasidharan & documentary filmmaker, Anand Patwardhan, came together with a statement to vote the BJP out.

And now, 616 theatre artistes have signed off on a statement that urges the public to not vote for ‘BJP & its allies’. The signatories include veterans like Naseeruddin Shah, Ratna Pathak Shah, Mita Vashisht, Vinay Pathak and Konkona Sen Sharma among many others.

The statement touches upon the community of theatre artistes, that has acted like a mirror to society. Theatre has been the place where social evils have been addressed, and as the statement reads – ‘we (theatre artists) have struck a blow at patriarchy, Brahmanism and caste oppression’. Further adding that the ‘idea of India is under threat’, the statement called for this breeding of hate to stop.

“The BJP, which came to power five years ago with the promise of development, has given free rein to Hindutva goons to indulge in the politics of hate and violence. Student Of The Year 2 trailer: Tiger Shroff, Ananya Panday, Tara Sutaria fight for love in new KJo film trailer of Student Of The Year 2 is out and it takes you back to 2012, when we saw the first batch of Karan Johar's glamorous, Gucci-toting students on the big screen in Student Of The Year. That film launched Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra in Bollywood. Seven years later, we have the second film in the Student Of The Year franchise. Taking on the baton from the earlier batch of 'students' are Tiger Shroff, Tara Sutaria and Ananya Panday.
Karan Johar took to Twitter to release the trailer of Student Of The Year 2, a film that is strikingly similar to its predecessor, or so the three-minute trailer would have you believe.

Student Of The Year 2 is directed by Punit Malhotra and produced under Karan Johar's Dharma Productions banner. There is a strong hangover of the previous film in the trailer. The difference? While there were two guys vying for the attention of one girl in the first film, the sequel has two girls fighting for one guy.

Just a while back, Farhan and Shibani went on a holiday, and their pictures went viral on the internet. In one picture, Farhan is seen holding Shibani from the back. While Shibani looks hot in her brown bikini, Farhan is seen wearing multicolored shorts. When a newspaper asked Shibani if she was in a relationship with Farhan, she chose to neither confirm or deny the news. "I am not secretive, but I don't feel the need to say things out loud," was all she was willing to say.
"I don't need to make an announcement about who I'm dating. It's up to me to decide when and what I want to share about my personal life, and it is up to the audience to decide how they look at it. How much information I want to put out in the public domain is my prerogative," she added.
Shibani had just celebrated Holi with Farhan's family. She took to Instagram to share a picture of their Holi celebration. She captioned the picture saying, "@faroutakhtar #javedakhtar @abheetgidwani @ankurtewari @thesubaya @sandymridul."

Before Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan made a name in Hollywood. And, according to reports, the actress is once again set to work in a Hollywood film. According to reports on an entertainment website, the actress has shown interest in a Hollywood project and will soon sign it too.

A source close to the development told the website, "Aishwarya has expressed interest in this Hollywood project. Paperwork is in process. Hopefully, if things go well, an announcement is expected by the year-end."
This will be Aishwarya's sixth Hollywood film. Earlier, the actress starred in projects like Bride and Prejudice, The Mistress Of Spices, Provoked, The Last Legion and The Pink Panther 2.
Though Aishwarya still remains popular in the West, in an earlier interview with a news channel, the actress revealed that leaving the Hindi Film Industry for Hollywood never crossed her mind.
She said, "I was very clear about that. Also because I enjoy Indian cinema I have had such wonderful directors to work with I couldn't get myself to do that. That's because it is just a different rhythm I know I can imagine some of our talent working there and experiencing it is exciting. It is wonderful to be part of cinema irrespective of which language or part of the world it is getting made in. It is just a different rhythm with which we worked in India and overseas"
